改习语出自《圣经.旧约.与以赛亚书》“听啊，你守望之人的声音，他们扬起声来，一同歌唱。因为耶和华归回锡安的时候，他们必须亲眼看见”。（Thy watchman shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.）现在用之表示“意见一致，看法相同”。

表示在某个问题上某件事情上看法一致，在短语后面加上on，即：see eye to eye on something。表示和某人看法一致，在短语后面加上see eye to eye with somebody。表示某些人在某件事情上一件一致，语序如下：see eye to eye with somebody on something。
