affection, love, attachment, devotion的用法区别
这三名词均含“爱、热爱”之意。它们的区别是：
一、affection的用法
affection 指对人的爱慕或深厚、温柔的感情，侧重感情的深沉。如：
I assured him of our affection. 我向他肯定地说我们是爱他的。
He thanked her with genuine affection. 他怀着真情感谢了她。
Cyril has very little affection for him. 西里尔对他没有什么感情。
He had a warm affection for his mother. 他对妈妈有一种温馨的感情。
Her warm affections are centred on her cousin. 她热切的感情都集中在她表哥身上。
二、love的用法
love 比affection的语气更强，有时表示一种难以控制的激情。如：
True love should last forever. 真正的爱情是永恒的。
He had a genuine love for his family. 他真心爱他家里人。
They are in love with each other. 他们彼此爱慕。
He had never been in love before. 以前他从未恋爱过。
My love for you is deeper than the sea. 我对你的爱比海还深。
One’s love affairs are one’s own business. 一个人恋爱是他自己的事。
In his youth he had had a serious love affair. 他青年时代曾严肃地恋过一次爱。
