10月11日，三星在官方网站上发表声明，要求所有合作伙伴停止销售和置换Galaxy Note 7手机。声明中还进一步要求Note7用户关机，停止使用，包括持原装手机以及近期已完成更换的用户。

三星公司近期面临的危机总结起来有这么几个关键词：
电池爆炸 exploding batteries
最近几年，智能手机市场竞争激烈。各个制造商都在手机电池方面进行“军备竞赛”（arms race），追求更小的电池，更长时间的续航能力，以及更短的充电时间。
据分析人士称，三星这款手机之所以会发生爆炸，就是因为电池的正负极接触导致短路（negative and positive electrodes coming together have caused short circuits），手机过热，从而引发手机起火和爆炸。
召回 recall
三星Note7手机起火爆炸事件之后，公司在全球召回了250万台。其中有75%更换了新的Note7手机或者其他机型（ replaced with either a Note 7 or another Samsung handset）。
停售 stopping all sales
召回并更换后的Note7手机仍然发生了多起起火爆炸事故，三星公司发布声明，全面停售该款手机，并要求用户在调查起火原因期间关闭手机（turn off the smartphone while it investigates new reports of the device catching fire）。
