Lake Superior State Universit has published its annual New Year list of Banished Words, words or phrases that it thinks are overused or “‘problematic’ for thousands of Queen’s English ‘stakeholders’”.
  苏必利尔湖州立大学发表了该校每年都会列出的新年禁用劣词清单,这些单词或词组被认为是使用过度,或者由于那些顽守陈词滥调的迂腐之人,这些词语带来了诸多问题。
The list is compiled from thousands of suggestions from around the world that come in throughout the year.
  一年来该校从世界各地收集意见,最终才编纂成为了这样一张名单。
Here is the full 2016 list
  下面是2016年新年禁用劣词的完整名单
1.So: “Currently, it is being overused as the first word in the answer to ANY question. For instance, ‘How did you learn to play the piano?’ Answer: ‘So my dad was in a classical music club ... .’”
  So(这样,如此这般):“如今,这个词已经成为回答任何问题的首选之词,它已经被用滥了。比如说,'你是怎么学会弹钢琴的?',回答是'如此这般,我爸爸是一个古典音乐俱乐部的会员。'”
2.Conversation: “We are invited to ‘join the conversation' if we want to give an opinion. This expression is overused and it is annoying.’
  Conversation(对话,谈话):“每次我们有什么建议和想法,都会有人说欢迎我们‘一起来谈谈’,这个词被过度使用了,令人厌烦。”
3.Problematic: “Somewhere along the line, this word became a trendy replacement for ‘that is a problem.’ I just hate it.”
  Problematic(问题来了):“不知从何时开始,这个词开始成为一种流行用语,取代了‘that is a problem’。我就是不喜欢它。”
4.Price point: “It has no ‘point.’ It is just a ‘price.’”
  Price point(价格点):“本来就不存在什么‘点’,这个词的意思就是价格。”
5.Secret sauce: “Usually used in a sentence explaining the ‘secret’ in excruciating public detail. Is this a metaphor for business success based on the fast food industry?”
  Secret sauce(秘制配方):“这个词常用来描述那些令人不快的公开信息。这个词作为一种隐喻是否产生于快餐行业的商业成功案例?”
6.Break the Internet: “An annoying bit of hyperbole about the latest saucy picture or controversy that is already becoming trite.”
  Break the Internet(玩坏了互联网):“用来形容一件被人们加以夸张,令人厌烦的事情,往往是最新的重口味图片或重口味话题,而且已经无人不知。”
7.Walk it back: “It seems as if every politician who makes a statement has to ‘walk it back,’ meaning retract the statement, or explain it in laborious detail to the extent that the statement no longer has any validity or meaning once it has been ‘walked back.’”
  Walk it back(话说回来):“似乎所有政客在做演说的时候都要加上一句‘话说回来’,也就是收回自己说过的话,或者连篇累牍的加以解释,以至于他说过的话一旦来个‘话说回来’,就不存在任何作用或意义了。”
8.Physicality: The word is overused by “every sports broadcaster and writer.”
  Physicality(实体感):每个体育解说员和作家都在滥用这个词。
9.Manspreading: “Men don’t need another disgusting-sounding word thrown into the vocabulary to describe something they do … You’re just taking too much room on this train seat, be a little more polite ... .”
  Manspreading(大爷式占座):“被收录进词典的词中,用来形容男士行为的听上去恶心的词已经足够了……你在公共列车上占的位置太多了,请礼貌一点……”
10.Presser: Used in the news industry to refer to a press conference.
  Presser(新闻发布会):在新型工业中用于指称新闻发布会。
