　　1. Shoot from the hip 冒失，鲁莽，直率

　　John isn't very tactful; as a matter of fact, he's known for shooting from the hip.

　　约翰不是个圆滑老练的人，事实上，他很冒失。

　　释义：字面意思是从臀部发射。源于西部拓边时期，牛仔决斗或遇到猛兽时，心太急，没瞄准，枪在屁股上就发射了。
 

　　2. Shoot in the dark 瞎猜瞎撞，机会很小

　　That babe's single and available -- I just shoot in the dark.

　　那个美女单身而且还没有男友——不过我也是瞎猜的。
