美国街头常用英语俚语（198）：Rub in / Rubber

　　1. Rub in 伤口撒盐，揭旧疮，雪上加霜

　　You're rubbing in by mentioning my wife's name; we just divorced a few days ago.

　　你提我老婆的名字对我无疑是伤口撒盐，我们刚刚离婚。

　　释义：源于俗语rub salt into the wound，意思是将盐抹到伤口上，即在伤口上撒盐。
 

　　2. Rubber 避孕套，橡胶（橡皮擦）

　　Sex without the protection of a rubber is very unsafe.

　　没有使用避孕套的性交是不安全的。

　　疯狂联想：在美国的课堂上，某中国女生忘了带橡皮擦，于是她向同桌的男生说：“Can I borrow a rubber from you?”99.99%的美国同学都要被吓一跳。没有人会认为她要借橡皮擦，而以为她想要“避孕套”。在中国传统的英式英语教学中，rubber可作橡皮擦讲。
