　　tomb： Tomb is a stone structure above or below the ground where a dead person is buried. 坟墓就是一个在地上或者地下，埋着死人的石头做的建筑物。由此可见，tomb包括的是埋葬死人的穴和上面的坟头。我们的清明节就可以表达为Tomb Sweeping Festival，即扫墓节；扫墓可以说成sweep the tomb。

　　grave： Grave is the place in the ground where a dead body is buried. grave是一个在地底下的埋葬死人的地方，grave侧重的是埋葬死人的墓穴。

　　在文学中，the grave指的是death，即死亡。例如：He took that secret to the grave.（他带着秘密死去。）

　　grave还可以做形容词，意思是严重的，严肃的。例如：

　　The situation is becoming very grave.（情况变得很严重。）

　　I make a grave decision.（我做了一个严肃的决定。）

　　还有一个词由grave派生出来，也与坟墓有关，即graveyard。graveyard是由grave（坟墓）和yard（院子）合成，常指教堂附近的墓地，坟场。从范围上来说应该比grave大，或者说很多个grave就能组成一个graveyard了。Graveyard除了表示坟场，还有“废物堆积处，垃圾场”的意思。例如：a graveyard for old cars旧汽车的堆积场

　　cemetery： cemetery尤指不在教堂附近的墓地，或者指公墓。例如：

　　风水（Feng Shui）是一门关于帮人们寻找一个理想的安息场所的学问。它建立在天文学（astronomy）, 占星术（astrology）, 地理学（geology）, 物理学（physics）, 数学（mathematics）, 哲学（philosophy）,心理学（psychology）和直觉（intuition）的基础上。它的核心思想（core）是要获得人与自然的和谐（achieve harmony between human and nature）。它讲究的是阴阳协调（balance the yin and the yang），五行（five elements, i.e. metal, wood, water, fire and earth）相生。风水师（Feng Shui master）用来测风水的工具是罗盘（Chinese Compass），它能指示风水宝地（good places for the dead and the living）。为什么中国人那么相信风水呢？原因在于他们相信风水宝地能对活人和及其后代产生影响（have an influence on the living and future generations）。好的风水能带来好运（good luck），巨额财富（large fortune），健康（good health）and 权力（authority）等等。
