英语新闻词汇：“付钱”用英文怎么说？

我们通常在结账时，

 

会付钱给对方，

 

但“付钱”可不能说“pay money”哦！

 

 

我们换个熟悉的词来理解一下

 

下面这两个说法，哪个更地道呢？

 

Write letters to me.

 

Write to me.

 

语法上都没有什么大毛病，

 

但其实在实际生活中第二个说法更舒服，

 

第一个说法略显累赘

 

 

在我们进行汉译英时，有这么一条技巧，通常中文里动宾结构的宾语在翻译成英文时会被省略，因为这些英语动词本身已经包含了中文宾语的意思，除非需要强调，否则可以省略，不省略反而与英语习惯不符。再比如说：

 

“你会唱歌吗”应该翻译成➝Can you sing

“他花很多时间读书”➝He spends a lot of time reading等。

 

那么“付钱”就可以直接

 

用一个pay就表示了

 

 

“付10块钱”应该怎么翻译？ 

 

 

正确的结构应该是

 

pay + 钱数

 

pay ￥10

 

例句：

I heard Jack only pays $1,000 per month for his rent in the West Village.

我听说杰克在纽约西村每月只付一千美元的房租。

 

I paid $3.00 for a cup of tea today.

我今天花3美元买了一杯茶。

 

 

We use pay something or someone when we talk about what we or who we give money to. You pay a person, or you pay a bill or invoice.

当我们想表达我们把钱付给什么或谁的时候，用pay sth./sb. 。你可以pay某个人，或者你pay账单或发票。

 

 

例：

We always pay the phone bill on the 10th of the month.

我们总是在每月10号付电话费。

 

At the diner, you pay the cashier near the door.

在餐厅，你在门口的收银台付款。

 

Jen bought a house because she got tired of paying her landlord.

珍买了一栋房子，因为她厌倦了付钱给房东。
