A：The principal just announced that Dr. Smith is going to take over as dean of our department.

A: 校长刚宣布史密斯博士任我们系的主任。

 

B: Oh.

B：知道了。

 

A: Why are you so calm? Are you not surprised to hear this?

A：你怎么这么冷静？一点儿也不惊讶吗？

 

B: No, I knew it all along. He was the obvious chojce.

B：不，这事自始至终我都知道。他被选上是很显然的事。

 

A: Do you think he can do well?

A: 你觉得他能干好吗？

 

B: A new broom sweeps clean anyway.

B：新官上任三把火嘛。
