　　1. Chew the fat 闲聊

　　Last night they just sat and chewed the fat for an hour.

　　昨晚他们坐在一起闲聊了一个钟头。

　　疯狂联想：敢情这“嚼肥肉”的意思是朋友、同事或熟人坐在一起悠然自得地聊天，就像东北人说的“唠嗑儿”呀！
 

　　2. Chick 女孩，美女

　　Let's go dancing at the school party. There are so many chicks.

　　到学校晚会跳舞去，那里有很多女孩子。

　　释义：本义是小鸡，但自20世纪20年代起，chick在美国黑人俚语中演变为指年轻女人。
