　　1.At the end of one's rope 无计可施，黔驴技穷，走投无路

　　I'm at the end of my rope - I lost my job, and I don't have any money in the bank.

　　我现在可真是走投无路了——没有工作，也没有钱。

　　疯狂联想：当你坠下悬崖时，别人扔来一根救命绳，只可惜绳子太短，你还是悬在半空。

　　2. At the wheel ①开车，控制；②领导

　　Who's at the wheel in this company?

　　这个公司谁在负责？

　　释义：这个习语源自航海，wheel是指控制航向的船舵，又叫方向盘。At the wheel本义为站在船舵获方向盘后面控制方向，引申为开车、管理或控制一个机构。
